Moncreiffe Hill Wood

Woodland Trust Scotland

Walker in Moncreiffe Hill Wood © VisitScotland Perthshire

The name of the hill is derived from the Gaelic ‘Monadh Craiobh’ meaning ‘hill of the tree’.

There are three circular walks through this fantastically varied woodland of towering Douglas fir, European larch, Scots pine, birch, sycamore, oak and ash.

The walks offer amazing open views of the surrounding countryside, with two Iron Age hill forts on site.

With over a 100 species of flora and fauna to be seen, keep your eyes and ears open for red squirrels, woodpeckers and roe deer.

Visit all year round.

Walks – easy to moderate. Pick up a leaflet, which includes a map, from Perth Tourist Information Centre.
