This area is the epitome of BIG TREE country.
From the last remaining survivor of the woods made famous by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, to the oak said to have provided inspiration for one of Scotland’s most famous fiddle players, the area has much to offer.
A selection of walks begin and converge in the villages of Dunkeld and Birnam, taking walkers past some of the most spectacular heritage trees with views across the silvery Tay.
With a range of pathways for everyone, the area also provides off road cycle routes and white water rafting for the more adventurous visitor.
