An anonymous donor gave a valuable painting to a charity event at Scone Palace. The painting, by Ralston Gudgeon (Scotland's foremost wildlife artist), is estimated to be worth £700 - £1,000 and was one of the most valuable items on offer at the Canine Partners Car Boot Sale, held in the Palace parklands on Sunday 25 April.

Lady Stormont said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive such a fantastic donation from a local supporter of the charity. An item of this nature generates a lot of interest and undoubtedly provides a substantial and much-appreciated boost to the coffers of a very worthwhile cause”.

National charity Canine Partners provides specially trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities. At the sale, professional valuations were carried out by local experts Nick Burns of Lindsay Burns’ Auction House, jeweller Tim Hardie and art dealer Malcolm Innes.

Lady Stormont went on to say: “Canine Partners is making amazing progress in helping people with disabilities in Scotland enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life. We are expecting to raise additional funds for this work through the sale of items such as jewellery, furniture, picture and other antiques.”
