Scone Palace announces new ‘artist in residence’
Artist and textile designer Clare Robinson is the new ‘artist in residence’ at Scone Palace.
The Perthshire-based water colourist will paint some of the beautiful blooms in the Earl of Mansfield’s private orchid collection this summer.
Originally from Cheshire, Clare is now based in Perthshire where she works as an artist and textile designer. Having studied Printed Textiles at Loughborough College of Art & Design, she went on to have a successful career as a product designer in textiles and fashion, working for various iconic British heritage brands including Mackintosh in Glasgow.
Clare has recently been inspired to return to painting by the beauty of rural Perthshire. Her background in textile design is reflected in her wonderful sense of composition and skilful use of colour.
