Griffin Forest

South of Aberfeldy, this extensive forest normally has a variety of nature trails and excellent mountain biking opportunities. At the moment much of the site is closed due to construction of the Griffin wind farm.

Work on the wind farm will continue for a couple of years and it's important that walkers and cyclists take heed of notices posted around the site detailing which areas are closed.

For the spirited mountain biker, it’s possible to cycle from Dunkeld to Aberfeldy via Griffin, past a string of secluded lochs.

For a more relaxed experience, shorter routes begin at Loch na Craigie on the A826 where you can park and look at the information boards.

Visit all year round.

Douglas firs have grown to over 400ft. Little wonder David Douglas wanted to see such giants here.
