Stunning Backdrop for the iCONic Project and partner in the Supporting Big Tree Country scheme.

Roseanna Cunningham MSP helps plant iCONic tree

The Gleneagles Hotel provided a fantastic backdrop for the launch of the iCONic project.

The planting of an Alerce (Fitzroya cupressoides) from Chile, marked the beginning of the project and the grounds are playing host to a further three single specimen trees from another three different continents.

  • Moroccan fir (Abies pinsapo var. marocana)
  • King William pine (Athrotaxis selaginoides)
  • Japanese Umbrella pine (Sciadopitys verticillata)

As if that isn't enough, the staff and guests at Gleneagles have contributed a stunning £100,000 through the Supporting Big Tree Country voluntary contribution scheme to help enhance and preserve the beautiful countryside in which the hotel stands.
