Linn of Tummel

Follow a riverside nature trail through mixed woodland to the place where the River Garry meets the River Tummel.

Information

The Linn of Tummel – Gaelic for ’pool of tumbling stream’ – features a series of picturesque rocky rapids in a beautiful setting.

The area was originally part of a designed landscape, with some majestic stands of Douglas firs as well as mature oak and beech.

It is adjacent to the NTS property of Killiecrankie with footpaths running between the two sites.

Easy-going walk of 2 miles/ 3 km.

Directions

Walking distance from Garry Bridge, 2.5 miles/ 4 km north of Pitlochry, on the B8019 - access west from the A9.

Facilities

Car parking provision for the site is limited at Garry Bridge.
Close proximity to the Killiecrankie Visitor Centre, toilets and refreshments are provided during its open season. Off season these facilities are available in nearby Pitlochry.
